How to Enable Vacation Auto-Reply

Step 1: Access Vacation Settings
  1. Log in to SOGo Webmail
  2. Click the Preferences icon (gear icon) in the top-left
  3. Navigate to MailVacation
Step 2: Configure Your Auto-Reply
  • Enable vacation auto reply: Check this box to activate
  • Auto reply subject: Use ${subject} to include the original subject
  • Auto reply message: Enter the message to be sent to senders
  • Email addresses: Add all addresses you want the reply to cover
  • Days between responses: Set a cooldown (e.g., 7 days per sender)
Step 3: Advanced Options
  • Do not send to mailing lists: Enable to avoid auto-replying to list emails
  • Always send vacation message: Sends reply regardless of sender
  • Discard incoming mails: Enable if you don’t want to keep messages in your inbox during vacation
Step 4: Set Activation Constraints
  • First day of vacation: Select the start date (e.g., 07-Aug-25)
  • Last day of vacation: Select the end date (e.g., 08-Aug-25)
  • Enable auto reply at: Set the daily start time (e.g., 18:00)
  • Disable auto reply at: Set the daily end time (e.g., 08:00)
  • Enable on specific days: (Optional) Choose specific weekdays

Click Save to apply your vacation settings.

Tip: Vacation auto-replies are sent before mail filters are applied, so make sure your vacation rules won't interfere with other filter actions.
